5. Inverted Pendant Lights

These are, as the name suggests, the opposite of Pendant lights, as they point to the ceiling and are used for general illumination instead of focused illumination. They are sometimes also called up-lights. These are lights that hang down from a designed fixture, that makes them directed upwards instead of downwards. These work best in entryways, exit ways, living rooms, or even kitchen islands.  These lights too, do not require a false ceiling. They can help soften the ambient light, as they are not harsh or direct lights.
 

Track lights can be available in various types, sizes, and shapes. They can be rail lights, spotlights, or even directional lights. These need to be mounted parallel to the wall, and can be above or below the area you’d want to illuminate. Track lights can be used with any ceiling size.
