Add a little detailing to your walls
Using a low dado of blue, the duo added a visual and tactile layer with a simple moulding. “The moulding is inspired by the Araish work from Jaipur,” says Keshav, adding “they add these thin lines of POP to the existing wall just to bring in a little detail, texture and character. We’ve used a modern interpretation of a traditional craft to elevate the solid wall colour." With a big room, you can definitely work this look on to all the walls. What Pooja suggests, however, is to let the dado panels with the simple moulding run on all walls and use the patterned wallpaper on only one feature wall. Paint the remaining walls a base colour of the wallpaper, in this case, a light shade of aqua.

Pare down the colour palette
With the walls being the focal point, Keshav suggests using muted colours to balance the look. “This setting works best with light wood, neutral furnishing and simple accessories.”

Add layers through texture, not prints
Pooja insists that the wallpaper should be the only printed element in the room. “Add visual interest through textures, not by layering more prints. We used light wood grain, textured jute, smooth velvets and a hint of tinted glass accessories to complement the pattern.”

Pick a few sleek pieces of furniture
The duo picked a “modern, sleek and smartly designed indoor swing that is perfect for urban apartments with space restrictions” along with a contemporary lounge chair as the only big pieces of furniture in the room. “We added a comfortable rug and plush throw pillows on the floor to complete the relaxed vibe,” Keshav concludes.
