Production designer Shruti Gupte created a living room that steals its ethos from nature and makes a comforting, peaceful space. Featuring furniture, upholstery and lights from the House of Asian Paints
This room takes you on a stroll through the woods, without overwhelming the space with greens. Production designer Shruti Gupte has taken the essence of a natural habitat and translated it into an urban home. The entire colour palette is in deep comforting tones. The wall forms a strong maroon base that sets the mood of the place. The furniture layers the room with shades that belong to a similar saturation. All of it together creates a homely vibe.
The sofas from House of Asian Paints blend in with the rawness of the space in a subtle way. Two distinct structures leave space for choice and add visual interest to the space. The bench creates an additional seating space and completes the set. The side tables and consoles have reflective surfaces adding depth to the setting. A chair in the balcony lets the residents enjoy the outdoors, while still being in the luxury of home.
Some contrast makes the upholstery on the sofas stand out. The cushions add to the warmth of the space. The curtains on the other hand are a soft sheer and solid fabric combination that is so light in shade that it adds a dash of charm to the space without taking up too much attention. All of the upholstery is from the Sabyasachi Mukherjee for Nilaya range.
At the intersection of the two sofas, a floor lamp helps balance the look. On the other side of the space, the console holds a table lamp chosen from the House of Asian Paints. This has a reflective base, again adding to the depth of the setting. The combination of a metal base along with a dark lampshade, enhances the arrangement of the nook in the room.
Shruti has introduced hints of green through the artwork and fabrics. She then added a few planters around the room and a lot of them in the balcony to intensify all the elements. She has also added accessories in organic shapes to add to the natural look of the space.
